Light Below the Surface explores the interconnectedness of the human spirit and the element of water. In this work, I sought to capture the serene feeling of being immersed in water and the transcendence that follows – the moment when light pierces the depths and reveals a stillness. I often imagine myself beneath the surface, looking upward through iridescent greens and blues, as the world above dissolves into abstraction. Painting from this inner vision, I entered a state of flow, allowing my intuition to guide the composition. Thus, the textured vertical shaft of light represents both a physical beam descending through the water and a symbolic thread connecting consciousness and the unknown. This piece belongs to my ongoing exploration of the sea as a mirror of my inner self, full of wonders that are yet to be discovered. This work invites viewers to feel the serenity of submersion, reminding us of the calmness within, and the light that endures even in the depths.
