This painting is an abstraction impression of one of the bays in Folkestone, Kent. The bay is shaped by huge, dark grey rock boulders which forms a small area for swimming. The entire structure of boulders is only visible at low tide, when the flat sandy seabed is revealed. This painting can be interpreted as either day or night. There is a small cave opening at the bottom of the rocks, inviting you in to explore.
