This painting is my interpretation of the swimming bay at Mermaid Beach in Folkestone, Kent. From above, you can see how the huge, grey rock boulders are built into a shape resembling a mermaid’s tail. At low tide the boulders are visible, revealing the flat, sandy seabed.
